Face of SUTRA 2010, gains momentum
After the resounding success of the Face of SUTRA 2009, entries for the 2010 competion have opened. The main sponsors that included The City of Cape Town, Old Mutual, Sensai Kanebo and Incredible India of the 2009 event, are all lookinf\g forward to a bigger and better international event in 2010. The Face of SUTRA Winners will win the cover of SUTRA as well as will become the International Brand Ambassador for SUTRA.

Indian Princess...Shashi Naidoo! in the past issue...
SUTRA Magazine and its team had an exclusive full day photoshoot session with Shashi Naidoo in Camps Bay on 29 December 2008. The full team spent a fantastic day and had great fun with this great session. The day started at 8 am when Shashi was taken to the Hair and Make up specialists for her initial preparations (although the team also came along to the locations). At about 10 am the crew arrived at Camps Bay, with the full support of the Cape Town Films Company, Cape Tourism and the City of Cape Town.
The fantastic shoot went on with great designer clothing changes, and various styling. Some of the garments used were from Gavin Rajah (the images below are in Gavin Rajah Designer Wear), Memsaab, and great boutique stores. The value of the designer clothing for the day was more than R 100 000, with jewellery and accessories worth more than R 40 000.
Sadly the weather didnt hold up, and at about 1pm the team and Shashi left for a private venue in Tokai, Bihari, for lunch. The indoor shoot began at about 3 pm and finished at around 5 pm. Importantly, many want to know how was the experience of working with Shashi? Frankly, she is a beautiful person and a seasoned professional.
She was sick on the day and was flu-ish but as you will see. The SUTRA Team has worked with a range of professionals in SA and internationally, and Shashi was amongst the best the team had worked with. She gave us amazing insight into her life, and how she whilst being the media still hold true to her culture and heritage!
